Cars, cats, and cathode ray tubes
The car is currently at the auto shop, being looked at for some annoying (and likely unsafe) hesitation in the engine that occurs not only right after I start driving but sometimes in the middle of accelerating on places like the freeway. I'm expecting a huge bill so I can be pleasantly surprised when it works out to be less than I thought. When my sister is in town around Thanksgiving, her husband is supposedly eager to replace the struts (and shocks?) on my car for parts and beer. Sounds like a deal to me.
Linus already seems a little bit better, although it'll be a while until that ugly cut heals. It has been cold at night and he's sleeping next to my legs and feet most nights – another great thing about Autumn/winter.
Re: TV last night (very vaguely spoilerish, I guess; VOX doesn't do cuts, though):
I missed the intro of The Office, so I hope I didn't miss something amazingly funny. The rest was quite good. Michael was especially cringeworthy last night, but the rest was just great.
I decided to give Grey's Anatomy another try (
negihama giving me a headrub/backrub while we watched helped), and although I agree with
thewalnut that it's hard to like any
character on that show, the prospect of Bailey kicking the ass of Burke
(homophobic actor and all; ethically challenged character) and
Christina (once my favorite of the show but now incredibly
irresponsible and unlikeable) gives me some hope. I just wish she could
kill them, but I suppose Sandra Oh is not going anywhere anytime soon.
