The Money Pit
My stupid car's going to cost a ton of money to fix. Oh well! I am glad that I haven't had to get any major repairs in quite a while, and it will be nice to have it running better. In the meantime, we're going to get a rental car gratis from my mechanic for the weekend and later.
The bill is one of those that's enough to make me want to get a new(er) car. However, it's definitely a lot less than a new car and the car should run smoothly for many more miles. Someday, I will get a car made in the 90s or, *gasp*, 00s.

Sigh, everybody seems to be having the same problems. It helps to have mechanics you trust for your car like you'd have a trusted doctor for your kids. Some things are cheaper learned and done yourself too like oil change and the like.
I do some DIY repairs for my Mary (which is my car) and sometimes all you need is advice. Pour in a little patience too. When things go bad, I just laugh it all out. :)
For your parts, I suggest trying out stores and having ones you prefer. There a lot online. Personally I use www.autopartsplace.com because they have really cheap products. Toyotas have the widest range so you wouldn't have a hard time.
