The Rose City
We had a nice weekend.
- Right after work, I drove down to Renton to pick up
negihama, and then we drove down to Portland. It's sort of a long drive, but we had mix CDs and word games to play in the car.
- Saturday was the big show: I scored a bunch of comics, a handful of sketches, and Elizabeth bought a couple of really cool prints (this one and this one). One of the artists appeared to have a Decemberists fetish, and we resisted a couple of prints that were obvious song references (this one is my favorite of those). I'll scan the sketches in later so you can see 'em.
- We had dinner with Elizabeth's friend Mike (and his mom), I bought the latest Anathallo CD (great!) at a nearby music store, and we managed to find a theatre to see Running With Scissors (pretty good) that night.
- Sunday, we hit LUSH, Powell's Books, and Reading Frenzy, and then we headed home.
- Leaves were falling like crazy in Portland, and it was really pretty. I wish I'd taken photos.
- We need to carve pumpkins tonight. Last year, I did Charlie Brown, but this year I don't have any ideas yet.
