Geez, my "Say Anything..." pumpkin got put on the VOX homepage (thanks to Pants Party?) and the comments keep pouring in. For the folks who don't get the reference, you have a hole in your pop culture knowledge that I recommend you fill. (That, or my carving wasn't that good. It wasn't, actually; I just picked a great subject.)

Below are the original image from the movie Say Anything... and my "guide." I messed up the length of the coat, so it does sort of look like a cape (for those who guessed "Superman").

We finally carved our pumpkins last night. Elizabeth's can be seen here.

She thinks mine is a little obtuse. We asked a couple walking down the street and they got it right away. I think it's pretty darn obvious. Can you make out what this is supposed to depict?

• I had what I believe is my first Pumpkin Spice Latté today. I even went into a Starbucks to do it, and I only go in there about once a year. Quick review: Not bad, too sweet, not pumpkin-y enough. I also want to try the Maple Latté or Maple Macchiato, which I guess I'll have to get at Starbucks because the few other places in Seattle who sell 'em aren't convenient.

My only real sweet coffee drink guilty pleasure is the Gingerbread Latté, and I can get that at any number of places. Not until next month, though.

• We still have resisted bringing Halloween candy into the house. Must. Stay. Strong.

• I'm going to try to be online for LostChat/DayAfterVeronicaMars chat tonight. If any of you old regulars see me online, please shoot me an invite.

• We came in second place at trivia again (by two points?). The humanity! At least we won another free pitcher of beer. That's a good way of getting us to come back again (maybe in another month?).
