At some point in June, I decided that cross-posting to both blogs was a pain. (I was constantly forgetting and then posting days later.) My neighborhood here is mostly populated with people who also read my LJ, and that is my primary blogging platform/community. Until 6A gets around to adding an option to cross-post to VOX automatically from LJ (the other way around is possible, but it just doesn't work for me), my posts here will be spare.
I should update this to say that I got married on August 25, and I went on honeymoon to Hawaii (Kauai and the Big Island) shortly afterward. Otherwise, nothing of note has happened anyway!
Last
night, we booked our tickets between Seattle and Honolulu for the
honeymoon! (We used mileage plan miles, so it was about $900 worth of
tickets for about $80 for the fees and stuff.) Flights between islands
are cheap and often, so we're going to figure out where we're going,
exactly, before we buy those flights.
We're going to split our time between Kauai and the Big Island (Hawaii), staying a week on one and five days on the other. We just don't know which one we'll be on longer. It might depend on whether we can figure out a week's worth of things to do on Kauai. (And if it's cheaper on the Big Island, we might spend more time there.)
Our landlord is having the exterior of the house painted. While I'm glad she didn't wait until we were preparing for the wedding this summer and/or hosting guests, I wish she'd picked a more communicative painting company. They put primer seemingly at random spots this afternoon (after arriving unannounced), and then left without saying a word and with an extension cord still plugged in through our front bedroom window. The windows are still covered in plastic.
I hope we don't have a whole weekend of this view:
